Making Games for Music
Music is always present in video games, but usually it takes a background role. Even in music-games, the composer and sound team do not get much to say in game-design decisions. But it doesn't have to be that way. Can we design for the music? What are other kinds of music-games? What does it mean to make a game for music? For Off-Score Project, we tried to design the games for the songs and their stories. We hope to share some of the learned lessons and development struggles.
Talk aimed to both aspiring and established game designers & developers who have interest in music-games. No previous knowledge required. The audience will hopefully learn about some new music-related games and experiences, as well as learn about the production and design of the Off-Score Project.
